The Details

Please point out errors if you spot any.

PDF of full results, official school media reports, and full video replay when available are linked under the name of the meet. If I leave something out, it is usually because it wasn’t available at the time I sit down to write.

Home scores are in red. Stick bonus is included in the D score. Neutral deductions are included in the E score.

Neutral deductions for injury and non-performance-related deductions are not included in the snapshot calculations.

Margin is where the leader stood after each rotation. I corrected for teams being on different events in meets that were not head to head.

Penn State @ Illinois

Results Illinois report Penn State Report

Illinois competed its lowest difficulty of the season. They have been hampered by injuries and in this meet were also missing pommel star Brandon Dang (who was competing and winning gold in Baku). Most of the ground Illinois lost to Penn State was on pommel horse, normally a great event for them. Penn State was helped by 9 sticks and hitting 23 out of 24 routines.

Ohio State @ Nebraska

Results Nebraska report Ohio report

Nebraska and Ohio State had almost identical difficulty, but Nebraska’s vault and pommel horse gave them the edge here to get them to the win and a season high (and high score of the week).

Navy @ William and Mary

Results William and Mary report Navy report Video

A close one between two evenly matched teams. William and Mary is much improved over last year. They are now ranked 10th in the nation.

California @ Stanford International

Results Stanford report California report Video (with international and Team USA results)

Stanford scored the 10th highest total score of the NCAA season, competing its lowest total difficulty of the season, but with its highest execution score so far. 5 out of 6current Stanford athletes (Asher Hong, Taylor Burkhart, Kieran Mandava, Kai Uemura, and Colt Walker) were competing for “Team USA” along with Stanford alum Riley Loos. Team USA scored 332.75, which is 2.05 points higher than any NCAA team score this season (Oklahoma with a 330.7). Asher Hong competed his Ri Se Gwang vault for Team USA. Stanford has been ranked number 2 for most of the season, but that a team with 5 out of 6 active Stanford athletes can get this kind of score should put people on notice (if they weren’t already). California scored a season high, even with an neutral deduction for an injury subsitution.

Greenville @ Simpson

Results Simpson report Video

Simpson broke the 300 barrier for the first time, with its best execution total of the season. This marks the first time Simpson has gotten over a 200 total team execution score.
